Website Search scrpit - script works but no results are posted
I am using Matt Wright's simple search .pl script.
The script does work but never posts any of the results.
I feel that it may be something in the $basedir or $baseurl statement(s).
It's driving me nuts! If ANY one could help or tell me where to find another script (I bet I've already been there though) I'd greatly appreciate it!
THANKS

nevertheless, what's wrong with matts? do you get an error-message? how does your script respond when you call it?

Personally, I'd stay away from Matt's scripts, their generally old. Although, I do use one of his script I have trashed many others after trying to get them to work or finding better scripts. You can get newer and better scripts. Try www.cgi-resources for all your script needs.

i think the sulotion is pretty close....
check the script again, especially the variables section at the beginning. you have to define three variables (search path, names of files, how deep to search)
if you don't define the right names and paths (you can also use wildcards!!!), you won't get any results, because the script just doesn't search thru any files!
problem fixed???

Hi. I haven't used this script, but this may help. For the basedir, type PWD or do that command in your FTP client. This should be something like /home/www/username/htdocs or something like that. Do not just put "/"

No, I do not get ANY error messages.
When I run the querry it works. The page returns but there are no URLs listed. Now I've run many different querries and each time everything works accept there are no results posted.
Thanks to all that have responded!
Any more suggestions are welcome!!
