Want to have user be able to change a graphic
OK guys and dolls,
What I would like to do is this.
Page one.
A table-
Left side headings names
Across the top- dates
inside the cells- a graphic for incomplete
When a user clicks on the graphic for his name and date a second window pops up
User fills out form with information on completion of item
User presses send
Form is e-mailed to me and graphic in table changes to complete.
Information that needs to be included in form
Troop number
District
Date of campout
Number of days
Location
Scout attendance
Leader attendance
Check boxes for
Skill Awards
Hiking
Patrol Cooking
Individual Cooking
Conservation Project
Good Turn
Religious Services
Campfire
Was litter removed from site?
Will unit be welcome again?
Thanks in advance for your skills.
By the way. I already have in mind what the site should look like. I would like to have the second page be a pop up page. If you could let me know how to access an array to chose whether or not the graphic on the first page needs to be complete or incomplete that would be a great start.
I don't know anything about CGI or PERL so whomever thinks they would like to help me will be asking for a lot of work.
Thanks so much for your help.
PPS I will be making a sample page Monday and Tuesday while I am traveling on buisness to Huntsville AL this week.
Edit here-
Just thought that instead of e-mailing me if there was another page that only I knew about that would let me print a report that includes all the information above that would be really cool.

Hello Jim,
Firstly I would like to appologize. I carelessly deleted your second post, thinking I was deleting mine. I am truly sorry about the mistake.

Just perfect Rob,
If I understand what I saw I need the following files.
camping.pl
troop_database.txt
camping_edit.pl
If this is correct let me know.
Also looks like I need to change the address for the camping_edit.pl location in the camping.pl page.
Thanks so much for your help. I wish I had the smarts to figure this stuff out on my own.

In case you wanted it, I have set up another page just like that (except now it let's you view the information in a nice table, and it all doesn't go through a Perl script). You can try it out at http://www.jsbee.com/camping/camp.cgi . Sorry but it's a bit slow.
Hope you won't 'accidentally' delete my post, eh, Rob?

That works nice too!
Is it slow because of your server?
What is the address for the summary sheet?
Thanks for your time.
Is this type of page unusual? It seems like you guys figured it out really quickly. Is it possible to add a password to the submit button? Or would it be better to just add a password to the page and undo the submission if someone added the dates in fun?
Thanks again for all your help.

The summary sheet is actually stored in a file called camp.html, the camp.cgi script basically strips out comments and new lines because camp.html is so big. If you want, I can make it so you need a password to view details or to delete a submission.

Hi there my name is Rick, and I was wondering if someone could help me please.
I want to create a login page which will login in my members, i want them to be able to choose their own icon, and for the script to use cookies so that my webpage will recognise them, and print their username and their icon at the top of each page. When that user logs out I want that icon to disappear.
Please Help.
Rick
