SQL & Access database
Hello all,
I am building a search engine with more than 100,000 items in an IIS/5.0 server.
Which database is faster, SQL or Access?
Can you also link to some source code?

You'll have to use SQL for this large of a database... with Access you'll be limited to approximately 20 Data connections (at a time), SQL scales depending on the capabilities of the server it's hosted on, and is much faster and robust. Access is fine for small amounts of data - say up to 100,000 entries, anything more and you'll need SQL.
As for code samples... look around the web, many exist.

I've not tested this personally, but I've heard from several sources that Access can't handle more than 20 connections.

SQL is definetely the way to go. As for scripts, what are you looking for? Aspin.com is the best place to start in my experience. It is one of the larget resources on the net for ASP.

I guess you've figured out by now that SQL is the way to go, there's really no comparison. Access is fine for a small personal site, or for testing, but for anything else you should really use SQL.
There's some good examples of search scripts at asp101.com, in the samples section.
