SHTML won't save correctly

Hello,

I am attempting to use a header/footer in my pages and cannot save the files on the new server my pages are hosted on.

If I type:

then try to save, the file is continuously saved as

Is there anyway around this? I'm using the editor that's provided by the hosting company's control panel (CPanel3). Please help!!

What editor is it? It works best if you use something like HomeSite or NotePad to do this. It varies from host to host, but try saving the includes as .shtml, or .htm, or .ssi. It's kind of trial and error.
