I need a search engine script for my web page. It needs to be able to run on a standalone PC (I have a local web-server installed) with 98 or NT.

Try simple search from matt wright
it's available at http://www.worldwidemart.net/scripts

it's not much but it's the only search I can think of that will run on a windows machine properly.

well i was looking for something simiiliar a couple of months ago. The best scripts I found are as follows

links by www.gossamer-threads.com and
hyperseek by hyperseek.com

there is also a script fromm hassan.com but
their support is non existing ( it took them a month to answer my email)

I am using links 2.0 because it was free to try but soon I will be getting links SQL
you can see it at work at www.ezciti.com it`s still work in progress but it should give you a basic idea about this script...
