Recommend a Voting/Polling/Survey Script?
I am in need of a polling/voting/survey script that will do the following:
- Allow multiple questions in the poll/survey, or allow multiple polls/surveys to be open at once and displayed on one page,
- Allow multiple answer selections for each question
- Provide some sort of vote blocking control (one vote per day or per IP or whatever)
- Present the data in an easy to read votes per option/percentage manner
Now, for the penultimate requirement: It should be PHP (but I will take CGI/Perl) and easy enough for a complete idiot (that would be) to install and set up on my site.

would you consider a hosted option?
there used to be oodles kicking around, but I can't put my finger on one lately.
http://www.hotscripts.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?bool=AND&query=poll&catid=2 has quite a few that you install yourself. Check for scripts with high ratings and a lot of votes.

I'm actually "hosting" the poll for a friend who was getting far too frustrated to deal with it herself any longer. But I might consider the hosted option and do the setup for her simply because the script I am currently using is working great until the time comes to display the results.

I downloaded a few from Hotscripts, they seem to be reasonable to set up. Did you want a flat file or MySQL system? Both exist.

I'd be happy with either a flat file or MySQL.

free-php.net and scriptme.com both have polls that look decent and have good reviews. Check them out to see if they meet your needs.

because they take up a lot of resources and can slow servers down, mostly by badly written scripts.
I'm sure there was a thread about it some months ago (probably a year ago) but can't find it
