php within asp
Ok wise peeps of TWF, I have a good question .. I am taking over webmaster duties for a site that is written with asp, which I've never used. This is ok as it's a CMS system (yuck!) and it's mostly simple maintenance within that.
The existing mailing software is way bad and I want to install 'phplist' (http://tincan.co.uk/?lid=453 ) on the server. No problem there as the software would operate outside the website, and the server has asp and php installed.
My question is this - when I create a 'subscribe/unsubscribe' box to put on the home page, this will presumably be written in php, and I don't know if it will function within a page that has asp. See http://www.bfa.com.au for source code. Can I make it work ???
Many thanks in advance for your words of wisdom.

nope, you can't have php and asp on the same page.

However, you can get away with having an iframe on the ASP page and having the PHP file for signup be in that iframe. That may or may not end up being suitable for what you want to do.

Thanks. I've decided to go with a cgi package (dada mail and I hope that will be ok. The subscribe box is a little form that calls the cgi etc ... any reason it won't work?
If there is still a problem I'll have to use an iframe..
Cheers,
