PHP book...
i finally found a free host that supports PHP so now I need a book. Amazon offers the following...
=====================================
Professional Php Programming by Jesus Castagnetto, et al (Paperback - December 1999) $34.99
PHP Pocket Reference by Rasmus Lerdorf (Paperback - April 2000) $7.96
PHP Essentials by Prima Development(Editor), Julie Meloni (Paperback - April 2000) $31.99
============================================
cant go wrong on the pocket reference for 8 bucks, eveyone loves pocket references, right? The first one is written by Jesus, would i go to hell if I didnt buy his book? Suppose I cant go wrong since the other one is written by a girl, and everyone knows girls cant program.
Hey, im kidding
But any feedback on the other two?

DevShed has a review of Professional PHP Programming: http://www.devshed.com/Books/ProPHP/
Jesus Castagnetto usually helps out at the forums at http://www.phpbuilder.com . Maybe ask him for info about the book there?

I got started in PHP using Core PHP Programming by Leon Atkinson. I really recommend you consider getting that one. I am surprised that an Amazon.com search did not turn it up though; it was there the last time I checked. ISBN: 0-13-020787-X.

Yes, I really like the "Professional PHP Programming" book. It explains it very good. If you have the money ($50), I would get that book. If you don't really want to spend anything, you can read the php.net online manual at http://www.php.net/manual I think.
