Making a new version a completely new product...
I have a product called SonicMailer and SonicMailer Pro. SonicMailer Pro is at v3.2.2, however, SonicMailer is basically not developed anymore and basically no one uses it.
Anyways, im working on the next version of 3.2.2, and added so many "better" features, that I decided it should not be an updated version, but a separate product.
Here is some tof the options I have thought about:
- Make the "new" version SonicMailer Pro, and turn the "old" SonicMailer Pro in SonicMailer (the problem with this is... all the people who already use the pro version would get VERY confused...)
- Make the "new" version SonicMailer Gold (or something to that effect), leave SonicMailer Pro, and get rid of SonicMailer.
What are your suggestions? Quite stumped on how I should go about this, not only what would be easiest for myself to do, but also for all of those who use it.

Just make it SonicMailer Pro v4. You should probably add to your licensing agreement the cost of upgrades.
For example, I've purchased software which allows free upgrades for all minor revisions (v1.x). When a major revision is released (v2.x), I can purchase the upgrade at a discount.
