Mailform problem - 405 error using mailform
Hi
I've installed an unchanged version of mailform from matts script archive and when I submit my form I get the following error...
HTTP Error 405
405 Method Not Allowed
The method specified in the Request Line is not allowed for the resource identified by the request. Please ensure that you have the proper MIME type set up for the resource you are requesting.
Please contact the server's administrator if this problem persists.
My server company do not support CGI but say that they will update the settings if they are wrong.
I'm on a Microsoft IIs server on NT (I think).
The form is at http://www.courtesan.net/broken.html
TIA
T.

Well, if your server doesn't allow cgi then matt's script (cgi based) will not work.
Sorry

a stupid question:
did you mean, your ISP don't allow cgis on your website at all, or do they just don't give you any support if you have problems?

Here is the line you have for the form action:
<FORM ACTION="http://www.courtesan.net/cgi-bin/formmail" METHOD="POST" ENCTYPE="application/x-www-form-urlencoded"
onSubmit="SetTitle(this)" name="Form">
If i'm not mistaken, where you have .../cgi-bin/formmail, you need to either make that formmail.cgi or .pl Also, check the case of letters for the file name. If i remember right, formmail comes out of the zip file named FormMail.cgi Unix are pretty particular about this, but I don't think NT is quite as bad
