Is it okay to use free CGI scripts that we find in some of the many rsources pages spread out around the net? I am in the process of learning Perl but for the time being I need to include such script for project. I have also identified the script but am apprehensive whether it woudl create problems later. This is a commercial project, mind you.
Will the use of the script reflect on me professionaly? Will the owner of the script claim any compensation later?
It really depends on the script regarding if you can use it or not on a commercial site. It should say somewhere on the author's site. If it doesn't, however, just e-mail the author and ask !
