how do i get this particular word out of this db?

ok, here's an example of 3 lines from the db:

blah blahs     blaher           blahed
i       clearly need   some help

how and the world would i be able to pull one single word out of a particular line in that db?

the variation in spaces between the words on each line is what's stumping me, i think.
