Hide Java Scritp

I have a Chat room written with Java Applet.

I have a Friend who is not computer litterate.

If this friend's browser is not java Enabled.

Is there a good script out there that I can put in
in the head section of my chat room to allow
him or the people whose browsers are not Java enabled to chat?

According to you what is the best script out there to Hide Java from old browsers?

It looks like that there are scripts that Nestcape Has problems with while IE dosnot.

If someone has turned off Java/javascript in their browser they cant view a java applet or be redirected by javascript to something else.
I'm not sure if they have flash chat rooms yet.

I think most pc's come java enabled by default, so your computer litterate friend shouldnt have any problems (unless he needs a plugin, but they are pretty much self installed these days) - sorry couldnt be any help
