Help with order form!!!
Hello, is there any script out there (I'm not very good at writting my own) i can get at a reasonable price or free that will take my form entries and send them to a file on my website that is secured by some kind of password? I want to be able to send a form to here rather than e-mailing it, much securer!
please advise...

I wrote a script a while ago that handles forms fairly easily. It allows you to have the information appended to a file, or emailed to you (or both).
The script can be found at

(I know the code is a little messy, but I just don't have the time to revise it)
Try it out, and if you are having any problems with it just reply to this thread.
Hope that helps.

But.....
I have an order form with like 128 fields! And I need them listed under their field names. I also need to get a password protection on it if at all possible. Your script is awesome, a great reference, and I will probably use it for other things, but it just won't work for what I'm doing. If you have any other ideas PLEASE let me know....
what do you professional's use for orders? I'm still new, so i'm not quite sure...... what's considered "standard" procedure for orders with visa without going through an "Online Merchant Services"?
thanks to all,

sounds like u need custom script written for u (128 fields). u may want to try the barter section of the forum. ur server may allow for password protected directories thru use of htaccess files.
good luck

Most formhandler scripts should allow you to have as many fields as you want on a form? Perhaps because you are writing to a file, that is causing the problem. I also know many formhandler scripts use a template for the email (or to write to a file) so that should be easily set up for you as well. I guess I'm not seeing where the problem is...
One the client sites I've done that have their own merchant accounts and don't do real time processing, I've always just used a shopping cart program to collect the information.

Hi,
Maybe it's just me, but 128 fields for an order form sounds like a 100 too many. Who would be willing to fill out that many form elements before buying anything? Not me, nor anyone I know. I would suggest revising the script before worrying about how and where to send it.
