I am trying to give free web hosting to people but I want to put my banner to my site at the top of their pages without them having to copy/paste any html on their pages. I know its possible but how do I do it automatically like the free hosts do (Netfirms.com)? What is the name of the script I can use...?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Pat

Anybody have a lead I can use, point me in the direction of somebody who knows?

I'm not sure, as it would have to be server-side and you'd have to have full control of all sites on the server. Have you searched anywhere in particular?

Well I would use cpanel from cpanel.net and whm from the same company... It gives you full control and it is a reseller package that I am using. I can use a skeleton directory if that helps?

Im not sure if its just some simple script or if its really hard...

I don't know exactly how it works either.

I believe files are edited as they are FTP'd to the server. Thought, it's possible that the hosts are using an apache module to prepend the ads as the files are being served.

If there is no answer on Google, then there is no question.

Years ago when Tripod and AOL were adding all these funky DHTML annoyances to pages, the code was inserted at the top or bottom when served.

Thanks for the leads, I'm looking into the apache module and editing the ftp files as they are uploaded
