File upload via browser: Problem with Word Documents

Hi All,

I wonder if someone could help me.

I have used PHP to upload text files via the web browser,which works fine.

However, when I upload a Word document (.doc) and try to view the 'uploaded' document, the format is all messed up.

Is there a way to protect the format of Word (.doc) files when uploading them.
