anti-leech + .htaccess
I used .htaccess to block hotlinking to avi files. So if I don't use the path that pafiledb generates but instead give viewers the real url to the files, would this be enough to stop leeching?
I tried with a .avi file and my web browser can't download the file by typing in the url. I tried it with a download manager and it says url cannot be found. So this is working!
Can this stop leeching?
I know this doesn't really involve pafiledb but since you are all "download" experts, im asking for help here. Hope you don't mind.

a .htaccess (with anti leech) will block everyone, no way around it.
You could password protect the folder it's in, and either give members the username/password or less secure include the details in the actual link (not recommended)

hello ,
i see your problem ... well i advise you to use an anti leech script
here is one : http://www.hlscripts.info
i think it can work with pafiledb , but you had to ask first in the author forums to take sure .
my regards ,,
