I tried this script in my code

I then named my file with the extentsion .shtml.
I uploaded my .shtml file as well us my nav.htmlf to my server
It didn't work...

So, I renamed my file .html instead of .shtml and it worked.
How come? I understood that the file must be name .shtml.

Help.

It's probably got something to do with how your server is configured - your host may not have configured the server to accept .shtml documents, but rather to have .html files parse SSI's.

P.S. why were you naming your file nav.htmlf? That f on the end is really odd, unless it's just a type-o Smiling

Yeah, some hosts require you do reference includes as .shtml, others .html, .htm, or even .txt. When I've switched hosts, my includes didn't work until I change their extension. It's basically trial-and-error.

So, it really doesn't matter, just whatever works, eh?
Thanks a bunch!
