I am new to all this web development trend, but I have managed to create a pretty decent webpage to call my own.

The problem that I'm having is as follows: Im trying to post my original music MP3 recordings in my webpage for promotional purposes.
The thing is that when I FTP my webpage to the server and I try to see if the songs will download, the songs wont download.

I get a "403 Accsess error" saying that permission is denied. I have no idea how to fix that or how to enable those MP3 files for download.

Somebody please help me, Im desperate. I looked all over the internet trying to find a tutorial or something that will show me how to fix this procedure. I came across this webmaster-forum site as a desperate last resort for help.

Any advice would be of great benefit.

Thanx.....

.htaccess is what you need -- you'll need to set up a mimetype

seach apache.org for mime type information
search google for .m3u which is the playlist setting for .mp3 files

Thanks for the advice, since I had no clue were to beggin. I already set the mimi types in htaccess, and now my web page loads with out erros (since it used to load with errors on page) but I still get that 403 access error.

I guess I'll have to surf the net and do a search for a tutorial that explains how to enable binary file downloads within htaccess or something.

Anybody know of a site that offers such tutorial?
