How to send a greetinng card on a future date?
Hi Friends,
Recently i'm working for a client on a greeting card script,They have asked me to modify the script,to allow the customers to send the card on the future date.Please clarify how the card will be sent on a future date.

well, this is one way..
use a DB (flat file or whatever) and make a list of addresses that the card is to be sent to (and perhaps the date/time for each address, in case people want it sent on different dates).
use crontab to exec a CGI (daily, hourly or whatever) that looks through your DB, and sends the card out to the addresses that have that date/time.
I have no idea how to use crontab, I leave that part to the *nix guru in the other cube.

i also pray for ur client if they're paying u to modify a script and u don't know what max was talking about.
