Wodex.com is a nicely organized site, and no fees. Thing is, like most other sites with domains for sale, there are tons of available names, with close to no bidding activity. I wonder... are there any domain sales sites that actually have a good amount of activity... instead of people listing at unrealistic prices?

Don't forget about ebay! Not sure how the traffic is for domains there, but in general ebay gets plenty of traffic. PS- know what you mean about those sites with one or two bids. Makes it seem as if posting it there is a waste of time. Is it?

Ted - IMO, it's a matter of opinion as to an unrealistic price. I agree when you see some prices as "$38,000" or something like that it seems ridiculous but unless the person is fudging their own auction someone did bid that much.
Chicken - Ebay is loaded with domains. Just do a search in "Domain Names". You have to wonder how many actually get sold.
I suspect more "traditional" marketing methods work better for domain name selling than just a post on some exchange site.

Jaiem, most of the times when you see a domain up for auction, and it is listed at some unrealistic price, that was what the seller _started_ the bid at, not actually the price at which someone bid. Just check out Yahoo! Auctions > Computers > Domains and you'll see what I mean... out of 8358 listed domains (low for Yahoo), less than 3 dozen are being bid on, with all but 1 under $1000. eBay has starting bids as well, so most of the prices listed are not actual bids but simply what the seller was hoping to get.
In most cases, the best deals come about when an interested buyer stumbles across the seller's site (or unused domain) and contacts them directly (although, granted, this doesn't happen as often as we all would like).
ReVigo, what are the domains that you have for sale?

BTW, I went to Wodex once and liked it, posted a couple names for sale, and now the site has been down for at least 24 hours so far, best I can tell.

Ted - I tend to agree with Devstorm that most domains are probably sold "privately" rather than bid on in public. Inspite of what some domain exchange sites say I suspect the majorty of sales, especially the big $$$ ones are private matters.

What about domain brokers? what do you think about them? although it is not free, you don't pay unless they sell so it is their interest to sell too. I personally am not sure, because i don't know if trusting someone i don't know like a domain broker as a 3rd party is wise, that's why i would rather do it alone and learn the secrets myself...
However i heard only good things about greatdomains.com, so i use them as brokers, maybe it'll work.
devstorm.com - The domains i got for sale are:
http://www.born2score.com
http://www.b2lf.com
http://www.b2goal.com
All those domains aren't developed websites, i just bought them in order to sell 'em.
Best Regards

ReVigo - IMHO, seeing how much the brokers charge for their fees and commissions (at least the ones I've looked into) you'd have to get a pretty high price to make it very profitable.

Based on my experience, the bigger companies will not spend large amounts of money without doing a their diligence.
If you are looking for bigger money (over 5,000) then you should probably contact companies directly. Do a thorough seach and find companies which you think might be interested. Then send them an email and follow up with a phone call. I don't know of anyone who would fork over thousands of dollars without speaking to the seller on the phone at least once.
If you are talking a fairly large sum (over $10,000+), it might be worth the investment gettting an attorney or broker involved.
Good luck,
Ryan
