php is a big plus, i'm thinking of going with a host just because they offer it and my other choices don't.

good luck

Hmmmmm....FrontPage for Linux. It's a rather big security risk though for the host, or so I'm told. You may want to check into that though. Cheers!

I personally don't use it FP extensions. But when people are looking for a host, it's one of the most requested features. (generally for newbies)

Actually stands for Personal Home Page. It's a serverside HTML embedded scripting language. If you're familiar with ASP, the most simple way to describe it is it's the ASP of the Unix world.

Have a complete tutorial, ect. here:

IMO, if you want to attract the largest audience of site owners you'll need to offer FP extensions. Yes they do run on Linux/Unix. Not sure about any security issues though.

But if you only plan on marketing to and hosting with experienced "high end" webmasters you don't need to offer it. When I was searching for a host I found one site that specifically said they don't offer FP because they wanted more experienced site owners only (don't recall the name of the company).

It was also the only host I saw that specifically said they would host an adult site.

cds, PHP stands for Pre Hypertext Processor, not Personal Home page!

Microsoft has made a Unix compatible set of entensions so that Frontpage users can have the same functionality in Unix. This is no way messes up your server, and it is NOT a security risk. I did the research.

Suggested services:
o PHP
o MySQL
o Miva
o Perl
o SSI
o SSL Encryption
o ASP (either ChiLiASP or Perlscript ASP support)
