using dual modems!!
i have heard that it is possible to use dual modems to dial into your isp and connect at the combined speeds of the two modems, is this possible? if it is can you tell me how? thank you!!

Yes, it's possible. However, you need two phone lines (so double that expense) and an ISP that supports dual-modem connects. Not all ISPs have the right hardware to support it, so you need to check with your current provider to see if they can handle it. If they do, they'll tell you the type of hardware needed on your end.
Personally, I'd be on the phone with the local cable company and the local TelCo every day beating them over the head to get broadband access ASAP.
