Socket error 10051
Hello everyone,
We currently provide a POP3 service for a client using IMail v 6.0.02.362 running on IIS4. We now also wish him to be able to use SMTP.
However, when our client tries to send mail via the SMTP address we have provided, he gets socket error 10051. We are not blocking access to port 25, which I believe is a common cause for this problem.
Does anyone know how we can get our client to use our SMTP server?
(Please let me know if there is any other information needed to help with a diagnosis!)

Hi, Andy, welcome to WMF.
Socket Error 10051 is a pretty general error. You seem to have ruled out the most obvious, ISP blocking port 25 to prevent spam relays. There really wasn't much listed for it on MS Technet. I am not familar with Imail, mostly Exchange, Sendmail and Qmail but I did find this article which seems to indicate a possible routing error.
