SBS installation
I am newbie in server installation so sorry for asking such questions
If perhaps somone knows better messega board for such questions please mail me url
here is the question
during installation there comes a window NEW DOMAIN INFORMATION to type in the full DNS server name NetBIOS domain name
I am connected to Internet with cable modem router (I have static IP and I am planing to host web sites...) BUT I cannot host my own DNS servers. I am planing to use free DNS service from zoneedit.com and I have already registered my domain name.
What information should I type in becuase I read in manual that this is very important what to write in if planing to use Exchange server (can I use Exchange as SMTP server to recive and send directly e-mails and I write MX record to my DNS server at zoneedit.com)
Thank you very much for all your answers!
Best regards

You would use something like
ns1.zoneedit.com
and
ns2.zoneedit.com
Check with Zone edit.
Also read this.

How to route through your isp's mail server.
Not sure if that is outdated or not (Something I was going to read soon)

If you are using the router, you should configure it to do port forwarding. What type of router is it?
I also use zoneedit. Who did you register your domain with?
To edit your DNS info, get into the control panel for your domain at your registrar, and the nameservers are ns1.zoneedit.com and ns2.zoneedit.com once you have that set, log back in to zoneedit, and the message saying you should change your nameservers should be gone.
Hope this helps!
