own web server...
Hi,
I want to know if it possible to have a web server on a regular desktop PC running Win NT 4 Workstation. What kind of things do it need? (Softwares, etc.) I want to do this because I don't want it to be on other's web server like Angelfire or Geocities. Please help. Thank in advance!

Well, you would need a public IP address, web server software (Apache, IIS, MS PWS, OmniHTTPD, etc), and a cooperative ISP. If the ISP doesn't want you running a web server, and firewalls port 80, you're out of luck. If the ISP doesn't you running a web server, and says so in its Acceptable Use Policy, then you're not supposed to, but you can risk it and run it.
