Im running a website which absolutely must be up. I need some kind of website monitoring system which can tell me when its not up .. Not in the form of an email I need a phone call . Just make my phone ring to tell me its down..
Ive looked at hundreds of web monitoring systems and they all want to send email notification .. which does me no good if I were checking my email then I would know that my site is down as im at the pc and all ..
I dont carry a pager and I dont want too .. can anyone tell me of a affordable company that does what im looking for . ? I dont wanna pay 50 + per month for it either.. Somebody somewhere must have a automated system for this.. ive got free monitoring software out the wazooo but havent seen any service that will call me .. Please help desperate.. I just got a new boat and would like to be able to go out on it.. lol . I stare at my pc all day waiting for my next reboot so customers will be happy .. HELP

Instead of looking for a service to call you when your site goes down, which if you are on a boat, won't really help why not look for a more reliable host?

Yeah, if you're on a boat, what can you do about site downtime? Mobile access to email on a cellphone might be an idea.

I'd do as Phil says and review reliability options.

You might want to look into SMS service. I know that there are scripts out ther to send SMS messages. I don't see why this capability couldn't be added to server monitoring service.
