Need advice on webserver setup
Hi
I would like to have some advice concerning a webserver setup.. i would like to know the most reliable way to do this.
I have a network setup consisting of 2 pc's (win 95 &98 running), I want to add 1 or 2 linux pc's to the network to be used as web and mail servers, I will be using a 1mb internet service to connect all of this. I want the 2 windows pc's to be able to surf the web.
How should I go about with this ? plug the 1mb modem in the hub directly? (10baseT) then can I assign it an IP? any advice or recommendations appreciated !
Thanks !

Hi
using old 486's was my plan, I was told they performed very well as web servers using linux. If I use one as a router then do i need another one as the server or could i just run the web server software (apache) off the router ? do you have any router software to recommend ?
I heard of hubs that are sold to share internet connections.. are those considered router ? those are pretty cheap (40$)
thanks !

slaviolette, I own a NetGear Ethernet Hub, and my friend does as well. He plugs his cable modem (I am sure it would work with DSL also) into the uplink port, and has two networked computers which are plugged into the hub as well. He is able to use the internet on both computers simultaneously.
