Limits of .htaccess?
I'm not sure if .htaccess is the file that does the job of what i am looking for, but i am pretty sure it is.
I once went to a website (forgot which one) which didnt allow you to download files directly from copying the url. Which means if there was a file e.g. MySite.com/SomeSubdirectory/aFile.zip, i wouldnt be able to copy that url into flashget and download the file: aFile.zip. The result from doing that was downloading an error.html page instead.
But there is one other thing that i would like to acheive. i have never seen this before, but if think it exists. Is it possible to tell the server that a certain file (something lke a flash or jpg file) e.g. MySite.com/SomeSubdirectory/FlashFIle.swf, can only be shown on a specific webpage e.g wwwMySite.com/SomeSubdirectory/Page.html. This file is not allowed to be downloaded any other way nomatter what.
I am not sure how to acheive either of these, and i am not evern sure the 2nd one is possible, but if anyone knows how to do this, can they tell me? It doesnt matter if it isnt done with the .htaccess file, just as long as it does the job
tnx for reading this
