Installing perl

Hi,
I am trying to install perl 5.6 on my server (win2k) but for some reason it just wont install, i have tried active perl, but when i click install i just get a command prompt window appearing for about ½ second. no directories are created (that i can find) where is it meant to install ?? i must be doing something really stupid, Anyone else have perl running on a 2K system ?? please help I really need this.
