How much bandwith for an IRC server?
I need to set up an IRC server which will serve appr. 1000 simultaneous users at once.
There won't be no script clients like MirC etc. Users will join the IRC via web-interface like Jpilot or Conference Room.
I can either rent an IRCD Shell or set up my own server on a leased-line connection.
How much bandwith and data transfer will be necessary for 1000 users?
I have no past experiences with IRC servers and I cannot imagine what it will take.
I need recommendations.
Thanx in adv.

You would need an unmetered server. Shared unmetered if you are on a tight budget. Not many providers will allow you IRC. Good luck.

My old reseller did IRC hosting for only $1 a month.. and it was unmetered.
Sorry I can't remember the url, it was over a year ago..
