Help With Custom Error Pages!
Hello all,
I've been trying to setup a .htaccess file so I could have custom error pages, but it hasn't been working.
Here's what I did:
1.) I created the http://www.sports-central.org/error.html page.
2.) I created at .htaccess file with the following included:
"ErrorDocument 404 http://www.sports-central.org/error.html"
3.) I uploaded in ASCII mode.
I tried typing in some random file on my server, and it still had the old, boring 404 error. I can't figure out why it isn't working! Is it because I'm (unfortunatly) on a NT server? Help!

YOu won't be able to change them using a .htaccess file. .htaccess files and such are features of the Apache web server. Sorry.

Thanks Rich, if I were to get a UNIX server at ThinkHost.com, would that have Apache? (Sorry, I'm not too familiar with Apache).

I started out with the basics once too.
Yes, thinkhost does use Apache. Yet, so do a lot of other hosts. To find out if a host uses Apache, visit http://netcraft.com and type in their domain name. This service (which is free) will tell you if it is using Apache or not. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Everyone here has a website. It's just that not all are worth posting (Mine! ).

Actually, I'm not a beginner or newbie, as you referred to. I've been in the business for about three years. Just got more involved the last year, though.
