FTP to specific directory?

Hi,

I use WS_FTP software. Is it possible to FTP to a specific directory such as:

ftp.mydomain\htdocs\bids\

If so do I need my hosting company to make any changes?

Explaination: I am a website and database developer. I am trying to make it easier for my client to ftp.

Click on connect, click the startup tab at the top, set initial remote site folder to htdocs/bids
