I have already had offers for webmaster-forums.com
Why do you ask, just bought a good domain name (I wrote an article on this somewhere in the What Next? archives).

Well, I'm not exactly sure, but it is very, very possible. If you have a good domain name in .com form, you will quickly find many buyers. Many good ones are taken now, but I'm sure if you look hard enough you will be able to find some. A lot are taken by C¦NET (download.com, news.com, search.com, etc.) And the domain name internet.com is good also. These would sell for a lot of money.

My partner owned trade.com since 93. We became partners because I knew a company that would buy it from it. We sold it at the beginning of 1999. There was a story in the WSJ too.
I've been offered about half a million for indexfinger.com, but that is the name of my company and I need it .

Yeah, clearly you don't need the money for selling indexfinger.com, hehe. I'm just a little jealous, as I'm sure everyone else here is. It also provide me with inspiration too.

Most good hosts will park your domain for free if you then use it with them in the long run. CT does anyway - and they register it for free as well.

Hi,
this isn't th right forum, but matches the topic.
What is the cheapest way to park a domain ??
the 70$ NIC are fixed,
but how about the 25-130$ registration and the 15-50$ parking ?
ciao

Hi, Dan. It actually doesn't have to cost you $140. You can do what the people at Yahoo auctions do, which is register the domain and if no one buys it from them they just don't pay the InterNIC fee.

These days, I wouldn't buy a domain unless I use it. Pretty much all the names that have any value have been taken.

Actually, one I might have a use for..maybe. I'll pay the 140 and wait and see. Never know, in a year or two, it might be worth something to somebody. Like the saying, one mans junk is anothers treasure, or something like that.

I was just wondering, what are the more popular domain names? You don't have to be specific (ie. yahoo.com), but what topics/subjects etc.?
