This is driving me nuts, I can't figure out
how I am getting clicks from two sex sites. They are showing up on awstats. One is a blog and the other is for explicit videos. This is the second month in a row I am getting these visitors. I go to the sites, but cannot figure out how they are getting to my site.
It is not really a big deal, I guess I am just curious. Is anyone here a good detective when it comes to stuff like this? Any tips in getting to the source of these clicks since I am clueless.

Do you just need the section containing these links printed?

If those sites are running some sort of CMS, it's possible the content with the URL of your site has been bumped to another page. I have run into that with links to my sites before.
Also, sometimes it is an image and not an actual link, so make sure you view source and search for your domain.

Actually considering that the links are adult, better not post/link the screenshots.

Yes, you're probably right. The sites are pretty bad. I wouldn't want to post them here.
Tim, I viewed the source and came up with nothing. I guess my URL could very well be on a different page on the site.
I guess some mysteries are not meant to be solved.

A while back (haven't seen it for a while) sex and casino sites seemed to try visit every site on the net so their url registered on the stats page which are sometimes found by search engines which gives them a link increasing their PR.
do a search for the url and see how many log files come up

there is a name for that type of spamming, but my mind never works when I need it too so can't remember it, it's not keyword or url spamming

Oftentimes they will spam your logs just to get you to visit their sites. Some webhosts also do the same.
It worked unfortunately.

I did visit, but I didn't stay long. I am not a prude or anything, but YIKES! These sites were bad.

The literal definition of prude is 'an excellent women' so nothing wrong with being one.
No judgment was given for visiting the site, just a note that it is the purpose of log spamming.
