They own it, not you for a year. If this sounds like your cup of butter, then gopher it.

Some hosts will also give you a free domain if you sign-up for their hosting. But why not just spend $11-$13 bucks and get a real genuine domain name w/o any catches?

Yep, I think joker.com is one of the cheapest domain registrars for individual buyers.

Anybody tried bluegenesis (Canada) or easyhosting.com (also Canada)
Their prices are like 15CDN ~ 10US

But I personally don't think maintaining DNS servers cost like NSI or other $20+ registrars!

But I think the price about $10 is the floor price! I don't think they gonna go any lower.
