Domain transfer costs?

What is meant by transfer costs? If I have a domain and sell it to Joe what is the cost for the transfer? Who sets the cost? InterNic? The registrar that currently holds the domain name? Joe's hosting company?

Hi Jaiem,

There is no transfer cost charge if you changed the domain Regisrant name to the new owner provided that you do it on your own but if you require the service of someone to do the transfer for you then you will have to pay for their services such as http://www.domainbook.com/partners/isi.html

Thanks. I was wondering.

I was looking at some domains for sale on ebay and most of the auctions said "Seller pays all transfer costs" so I just wondered what they were.

BTW, do you know if there's sales tax (or any other tax) on the sale of a domain?
