Domain names with & w/o WWW?
I was wondering - why do some domains require you to enter the WWW prefix and others don't?
That is, with some domains I can just enter XYZ.COM and go to the page. With others I'll get a lookup failure unless I use WWW.XYZ.COM
Thanks.

Hi Jaiem,
Some web hosting companies support it and some do not. It is not a very big deal and most hosts do. However, it is a very nice and helpful feature, especially if your customer only types in your domain name. As you can see, we do support it.
PS: What do you think of our new look? On our hosting site?
Thanks
Curtis

Hi Curtis. Long time no email.
I was wondering about the www thing. It seems so simple but I have found a few sites that can't be accessed without entering www. I wonder if their owner's know that?
Your new site looks good. That's the 3rd time you're redesigned your site since I've known you. It must be keeping you up at night.
Any new features/services lately?
BTW, did you see that I had registered a second domain name through your site a couple of weeks ago?

The site looks better than before, but:
1. CHANGE THE FONT!!!
2. The top left graphic doesn't have a great quality...
3. There is a lot of white space- it needs some livening up.
The site could use some work, but overall you did a pretty good job.

No, I'm a sales rep for VenerNet Inc. I just point them sales and they take care of everything. You do not have to go through me at all, just order through my site and you never have to speak to me again, just to Vener. I don't buy their service at all. Our web site is setup to send everything to them.
Jaiem:
I know, but I think I'm finally happy with this look.
Yes, I saw that. And, I think Vener is finally going to come out with the New AE's pages and update everything. Rod has been working very hard at it.
Brian:
1. What font do you mean, since it is arial, I think.
2. Since is is a trans, then you must have a very good monitor to see a very good picture. Looks awesome on mine, I have a Sony with .25 dots per inch.
3. I know, but my downloading time is getting there.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for all your comments, I have noticed Webmaster forums was down the other day, for a long time. Hmmmmm Chad?????
Thanks

Curtis, you may want to check out the Forum Specific Comments forum. That is where things go when people have problems with the forums and the problems you are referring to are discussed there. For the record though, it wasn't downtime, it was an IP address change and it just depends on how fast your ISP is to update their DNS records. Apparently yours isn't the fastest.

Also, I am going to close this thread as it is no longer discussing the original questions.
Curtis, for site comments, please post in the Web Site Critique area. Thanks!
