custom 404 for FrontPage98
I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a custom 404 error page with front page? That ".htaccess" thing doesn't work, I can't name a file that in front page for some reason...
Sorry, I hope this is the right forum but I am not sure.
Any ideas?
Thanks

You dont use Frontpage to write the .htaccess, you use a regular text editor, like notepad.
In the .htaccess file write the line:
ErrorDocument 404 http://www.yoursite.com/custom_page.html
replacing the URL for the custom 404 error page you are going to write. Then you can write the custom page in Frontpage.
For more info on custom 404 pages go to:

That should work.

The best thing to do is ask your host if you can have a custom 404 page.
