Can an SDSL (1500/1500) line support two large sites?
My friend and I are looking into buying an SDSL line that is 1500/1500, but we want to make sure it can handle the bandwidth. Let's say every month the combo of sites would generate about 120gigs of bandwidth transfer and this "could" increase as well. Also, ther could be large numbers of concurrent users on the forums so lets just say there were 200-300 users on both sites at one time.
Could a T1 speed SDSL line handle this type of bandwidth? The issue of hosting on the line isn't an issue. I was just curious what kind of bandwidth is required to run all this.
Also, we'd like it not just to run, but run smoothly... so not a huge slowup all the time, etc.
Thanks,
Mark

LancerForums, I really haven't been able to come up with an answer for you on this. You might check over at DSL Reports

No problem, I was looking into T1 lines and they seem reasonably priced so I think we're going to go with one. If the T1 is dedicated to us so we have the full bandwidth, will it support hundreds of users online. Here's my friends site. Right now it's really fast through his host, but he's paying a ton for bandwidth usage. That's what we want to cut out.
Thanks,
Mark

i doubt they could handle it
120 gigs a month is quite a bit and would be to much for sdsl i would say
at the costs of a sdsl or t1 why not colocate ?
you can find colos starting at 100 a month vo has them even cheaper i believe
I do not use netscape nor care if my stuff works or doesnt in it.

Check your fineprint with your provider, a friend of mine had his T1 disconnected because of "excessive bandwidth usage"
