dose any one know of this problem and maybe a solution.this has happend to me before i backed up my htdocs and reinstalled its not that simple this time as i have triad so it will over right my SQL data base on install

Try to see the error log when you try to start the apache web server.
Usually it will show you which line in httpd.conf is causing the problem.

Or type "httpd configtest" without the quotes at a command line and see what it says. (If it happens again that is)

If something overwrote your httpd.conf and it wasn't you, then I would suggest reading up on security ASAP!!!
httpd.conf is not one of those files that get inadvertently overwritten!

I wouldn't panic on that. Hackers usually WANT apache to be running. I have experienced on a few occasions that a corrupted httpd.conf file, suddenly for no apparent reason except perhaps bad ram or a full partition not allowing the file to be corectly written to disc after editing. It's nothing to worry about if you have backups.
