Apache on my Mac, noob question

I just finished enabling Apache on my Mac.

I running OSX 10.3.3

What I need to do is develop a Database driven site and I wanted to test everything in the mean time till we get an Apache server in.

So either way you cut it I need to learn this.

I’m a Graphic Artist who just finished creating the skeleton for our corporate web site. So I know very little when it comes to hosting issues and all that good stuff. As a matter of fact I just started using CSS not so long ago before that I was creating coding nightmares in Dreamweaver.

Anyway I can’t find my root directory to publish anything. Does anybody know where that would be located?

I have a ton of questions after this like how do I get it to serve PHP pages and what not.

In OS X it depend how you enabeled it it could be in your home directory in the sites folder or in /Library/WebServer/ since you didn't specify OS X server i guess it's in your home folder

IF , ELSE , WHILE isn't that what life is all about

Okay thanks I found it under /Library/WebServer/ like you said but that is where all the apache support files are so can I point it to another folder or should I put that info in a sub folder and build off of that directory?

Apache has a configuration file called httpd.conf . I assume that it is the same name under OSX. All of your configuration is done within that file. Within that folder, they is something called DocumentRoot that is where your webpages would go.
