Alter Host file on a Mac?
I've altered a DNS to IP# on a PC (NT) host file but I don't know how to do it on a Mac. Any cross platform people out there?
I don't even know if there is a host file.

Doren, sorry don't know much about this one. I will talk to one of my Mac buddies and see if I can find out.

Thanks mairving but I've figured out how to do it.
Pretty simple, just make a file in BBedit with something like this
anyname.com A 59.113.45.345
Where the spaces separating the A are tabs and there is one carriage return at the end.
Open the TCP/IP control panel. Use it's Edit menu to set the controlpanel to 'advanced' . Use the 'Select host file...' to select the BBedit file you've made.
