$11 Domains
I just found out about this company: http://www.onestop.net/
they're reselling for Tucows (OpenSRS), but they do look like a reliable company that isn't going anywhere soon... They were established 1996, and have offices in L.A. Normally I'm a little leary about going through OpenSRS resellers, but this one seems reliable. Anyone know anything about them?

They look like a pretty good company. Not an armature looking web site like some of the other registrars. It’s $11 for one year correct?

Hi adam,
Just to let you know and fellow members who may be attracted by the low price for a domain registration.
I registered a new domain name for a client and since they also offer free hosting(one of their hosting package when registering a new domain name) 10mb with other facilities such as e-mail, cgi-bin, etc. it was a good offer.
It has been 6 days and when I check with other domain registrars, it says that the particular domain is available and to confirm I also checked with InterNIC is says there is no match for this domain.
I have registered two other domains with high-end domain registars and it was set up within 24 hours without any problems.
There is no memtion of who is the "Domain Admin" and this may be a problem should you want to change host due to some reasons in future.
I hope my experience will help members to consider and check out cafefully be registering with any low-end domain registars.
Hope this helps.

Here is a quote that someone from their forum replied to me.
I think most of us have been taken for a ride so please be extra careful when looking for cheap domain registrars.

I certainly understand the need for cost efficiency but one thing I've learn in my years on this planet is that 9 times out of 10 you get what you pay for.

Well, I just received some good news from onestop.net. I checked with other domain registrars and confirm the particular domain that they are registering for me has indeed been taken.
After some complaints from users, it looks like they are improving their service and I hope it will get better as it will benefit everyone.

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that it's okay to register with onestop.net for a domain and they also have some good webhosting package including one free hosting package.(a 24 pixel small top frame for ads included and not 60 pixel like some other hosters)
By the way "Admin Contact" is registered to the domain owner, so there is no problem if you want to change DNS(new host) later on.
My domain and website that I mentioned earlier is now running perfect.

So then how long did it take to see your domain (with you as owner) in an off-site whois search?
I registered two domains with them about 48 hours ago (not a long time yet) and the whois records still say the domains are available. I went to check out their site just now, and its down.
I'm really more concerned about someone else getting my domain names, as opposed to the $22!

Hi Ted,
It took me about a week before the domain appeared at InterNIC Whois. They have a forum where many people post their complaints about not getting their domain registered fast. I did post there and my complaints was attended to and my domain was registered after 24 hrs.
Hope this helps.

Thanks NSS,
Before I read your post above this one, I saw your posts over there...
There seems to be "progress" in that I just received e-mails from onestop stating "Registration for <edit>.com has been completed and should show up in tomorrow's WHOIS database updateing ". If that's the case, it would be faster than yours... so they would be improving.... but we'll see. Ciao.
