I've only seen it as the Who's Online hack for forums - started with the UBB but it's been written for other boards as well now. Have you seen it on other parts of any sites?

First you would have to tell us what you have available on your site: ASP, CGI, etc. I know I've seen ASP code for this somewhere (maybe asp101.com?).
