Why not visible in IE?
Okay, so why is this not showing up in IE6? There is like "space" for it, but its not visible!

If you look in firefox, there is a black bar with "latest news" below the main menu. This space is empty in IE.

The percentage of people who use IE 7 is pitiful versus IE6.

Give it a month and that will be very different as MS are going to force IE7 down as a compulsory upgrade. By the end of the year there will be more people running firefox than IE6 I would guess.

Because I don't use IE, I can only offer general hints.
It's kind of hard to debug your code because you've mixed inline styles with external stylesheets. Unmaintainability is one of the big disadvantages with inline styles.
Try making a simple test page with just that disappearing div and all the styles that apply to it. See if you can isolate the problem, and then work from there.
