I was wondering where did you learn about css, html, xhtml + javascript? Did you search on the web? Took online classes or go to school for this?

I must say I thought myself everything I know. But am considering taking classes for css! It's better to ask your teacher and get an answer right away than searching hours on the net for answers.

I learned about CSS through my girlfriend. I was using Dreamweaver and I would only use the design view, because I was afraid of learning HTML. She sat me down and told me I had a problem, hehehe no she did sit me down and she explained how CSS is used and made me understand it. From there I started going to different websites including:

Definitely, W3schools is one of the best option to learn online languages such as PHP, ASP.NET and others famous languages which are using in a professional career. I also see some times its tutorials when I stick with some points.

The only thing about http://www.w3schools.com/ is that some information is a bit outdated; but there is a lot of great stuff on their is your a real basic user! Otherwise a good one is to install a wordpress site, and mess about with the coding - i learnt a lot that way!

I learnt it in my university. And then one of my friends who is quite expert at it, helped me getting good knowledge about it.

But still I think I need to learn more about it.

I learned a little in college, but most of what I know I learned online through trial and error, w3schools.com, HTML.net and tizag.com. Learning these languages take time and are very difficult in the beginning. It's sort of like learning a foreign language.

Many of the websites that are listed at the top of the search engines really aren't too helpful. I really recommend posting your questions in forums such as this one. There are a lot of really good ones out there and I personally recommend doing a search in google or your favorite search engine with phrases such as webmaster help, webmaster tutorials and the like.

Hope this is helpful to the newbies. It takes a while, don't cut corners, you will be glad that you didn't. W3 schools used to offer certification, but I haven't been there in some time and am not sure if they still do or not???
