What Program?

I was just wondering what program everyone uses to make their web sites? Presently I am using Netscape Composer, soley because it was free. This upcoming school year I wil be taking a class that teaches web design with Front Page. I was wondering if most programs are the same, basically. After this class I plan on buying a program to redesign my site, any suggestions on what program to buy?
