Sad
hi, i'm in a critical situation, the problem is , the site which i built works fine in my machine and where ever i see it, except for two places. in these two machines it looks weired.
the site extends its width all over the screen and there are lots of spaces to the right of an image which is placed at the center of my page.

what could be the reason. i took the source of the webpage from these machines and when i view that from my machine it is fine as usual. so i'm not able to understand the problem so not able to fix it also. is it something related to the settings in these two particular machines, if yes what setting should i compare with mine.. pls help...

let me know whether i need to give more information.

thanks for your help. Confused

Could you post a URL please? Also, was the same browser being used on all the machines you tested on? Check the version number. It could be that the "weird" machines had old browsers.

I couldn't find any problems in IE 6 or 7 but I do see what you're talking about in Opera.

I can't really figure out what the problem is right now without taking too much time (I'm supposed to be working!). My first suggestion would be to get that page valid, but with all the errors you've got on there that would take forever....

A "quick fix" for HTML errors is to use Tidy. There's an on-line version here: http://infohound.net/tidy/.

You will have to check the results across browser-land, as Tidy makes some assumptions as to what to do with invalid code. (As do browsers.)
