uploading images

can anyone help I am working on an art site and need to be able to give customers thier own page which they can upload images to from thier own pc also the images need to be neatly formatted and resize when clicked on and as if this isnt a tall enough order the whole thing needs to be password protected.
Please help....

Does your server have anything like GD or image::magick ?
several scripts over at hotscripts.com if they do

My server has said they will install image magick for me.

Sounds like the program Gallery would fit the bill. I have it on a couple of sites I run. One is my personal site, thepriebes.com.

Wow Tim could you have found a more complicated looking piece of kit??? lol,
I just took a look at this after downloading it and I think I may need a lie down.
Is it as difficult as it looks cos I dont even know where to start...
I appreciate your help but I think I am going to need a LOT of help with this one.

Gallery rocks, and is not that complicated! It's totally customizable, and you can find answers to everything by either searching thier user forums, or by posting questions.

I use it for my galleries and i love it.

Cheers Roo any pointers as to to start?? so many files I dont know where to start..
I had a look at your galleries v nice.
Sorry to be a bit dim but this is very new and I need a bit of spoon feeding.I dont know wether to just start my page in straight html and then intergrate other aspects...........help me please i'm drowning.
